The Classroom Astronomer Newsletter
TCA, The Classroom Astronomer Newsletter/Inbox Magazine, is a successor to the 2009-2015 magazine of the same name. It covers topics in astronomy education of all levels, for K-12, college, home schoolers, and the pandemic virtual teacher, whether parent or professional. There are articles, reviews, tips from professional journals you can use now instead of waiting for the years it takes to filter down to the everyday teaching corps, ‘teachniques’ from our own experience, things you can do and use with upcoming sky events, and far more than can be listed.
TCA is a premium newsletter, what we call an Inbox Magazine, requiring a monthly or annual fee as of the September 15th, 2021 issue. Rates are generally around 1-2.50 per issue equivalence. We also have now a Free monthly TCA Digest, with the best of the prior months’s articles. There are also rates from students, developing world astronomy teachers, science education students, and home school teachers! Just inquire!
There are lots of astronomy resources on the web and in print, often free, but few resources that reach the teacher on education in astronomy, on the how of teaching, the pedagogical knowledge. Subscribe to get full access to the all the newsletter issues and all its articles, its archive, and never miss an update.
You won’t have to worry about missing anything. Every new edition of the newsletter goes directly to your inbox, on your phone, your tablet, your home or school computer, all the places you get your email.
Additionally, and for free, TCA’s homepage, at www.classroomastronomer.com, has a complete list of all Issue Tables of Contents and an Index by Topic (Teaching a particular Celestial Object, Educational Topic such as Assessment, and Cultural Connection such as Astronomy and Society).
